So, you might know that I'm a developer. > [**Show Slide: real estate developer, heck yeah man, reuse that old joke**] Okay, maybe not that kind of developer. THIS kind of developer > [**Show Slide: programmer**] Or maybe more accurately, this one > [**Show Slide: nerd kid in front of a computer**] ## Content So yeah, I'm a programmer. I like making things since I was a kid, then mini-caveman me discovered computers, now I can make horrible creations in an unprecedented rate. And because of this hobby of creation, I have quite some projects. One of them being, simpliCity, my flagship game. > [**Show Slide: simpliCity cover art**] So, in this session, I would like to tell you and / or describe about my game, simpliCity, which we will (insya Allah) cover these topics. * What is simpliCity? * Gameplay * Other aspects (arts, ) Okay, what's simpliCity? simpliCity is a **simpl**e **city** building game without all the hassle of complicated resource management unlike some other games that introduces some barrier of entry to new players. simpliCity removes that barrier, so the game's (and players') focus is to **just build** beautiful cities. (yeah, that's where the name came from) How does it look like? > Show screenshots **Note to self: also explain art style** Now, I should probably show you the gameplay! ### Gameplay > please pre boot! * Title screen * Play * Tutorial and rules * Goal * Freedom **Note to self:** also explain target audience, and how you made the game --- ### (OUTDATED, make this a reference) How did I make it? Now, before I show you the gameplay, (I actually wanted to do a quick demo here, hopefully I have time for that.) I'd like to tell you on **how** I made the game! yeah! So, the current public release of the game was made using the Unity game engine. What are game engines? Well, they are software or specialised tools that is meant for making games. There are a lot of game engines, popular ones suchas, again, Unity, Unreal Engine, and Godot (or g-dough). When I initially made the game, I quite literally just wanted to create a sandbox game. I like sandbox games since I was a kid, so I made one! After that I added more core features to the game, such as citizens, save and load system, and more buildings, and simply, there was simpliCity!
